COOPERATION AND CULTURAL SERVICE
Together with its U.S. partners, the Cooperation and Cultural Service promotes French-American exchanges in the arts, film, education, civil society. It supports and advises individuals—artists, authors, teachers, researchers and other professionals—as well as such institutions as art centers, film institutes, professional networks, schools and universities, NGOs, foundations, and local authorities serving as a partner on many projects and programs. The Cooperation and Cultural Service also oversees the network of French educational programs and provides administrative oversight for teachers and researchers posted in the U.S. It provides information for American students interested in studying in France, implements language programs in French schools, and organizes internships and other residential programs in France, as well as training in France for U.S. teachers. The site www.frenchculture.org offers a complete presentation of the Cooperation and Cultural Service’s programs and an overview of French-themed cultural and educational programs throughout the United States. In Washington, La Maison Française, housed at the Embassy, hosts numerous cultural events.
