The International Technical Police Cooperation Department (SCTIP) of the Interior Ministry is the exclusive provider of technical assistance to the interested countries. Under the authority of the Director-General of the French National Police, the worldwide role of the SCTIP consists of participating closely in international relations regarding all aspects of security matters.

Police cooperation, under the supervision of the SCTIP, encompasses setting up exchanges, providing advice of a technical nature, exchanging operational information, facilitating official Police visits, and assisting the execution of International rogatory letters.
